Improved vitality and health: a crucial human study on NMN supplementation

Research consensus indicates that high NAD levels in humans are beneficial, promote life and help prevent illness. Therefore, anti-aging researchers are constantly exploring strategies to increase the NAD levels as we grow older.

An international research team tested the efficiency and safety of NMN supplementation in a clinical human study, published in the Geroscience Journal in December 2022. The comprehensive, multi-cooling study examined how different NMN doses affected NAD concentrations, NMN's tolerance and security, and its clinical effectiveness for of different assessments.

The gold standard randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, dose-dependent study involved 80 middle-aged (40-65 years) healthy adults. They were divided into three experimental groups and one placebo control group, each with 300, 600, or 900 mg of NMN oral daily.

This 60-day study involved thorough assessments, including safety and tolerance checks, NAD concentration measurement, endurance testing, "biological age" calculation, insulin resistance evaluation, and quality of life assessments.

The results indicated that NMN supplementation is safe and relatively tolerable with a significant increase in the NAD concentration. NMN also improved physical endurance, reduced "biological age", and improved participants' perceived quality of life and general health.

Interestingly, the study showed that a daily dosage of 600 mg resulted in significant improvements over 300 mg, but the increase of the dose to 900 mg provided no extra benefits. This study suggests that daily NMN supplementation can have a positive impact on general health, well-being, aging and endurance.
