The natural mineral zeolite has been used for natural detoxification since ancient times. When the nuclear reactor exploded in Chernobyl, it was covered with 22,000 tons of clinoptilolite zeolite to make it safe from emitting dangerous radiation. Zeolite is a crystalline microporous rock of volcanic origin and has the ability of selective absorption (for example of heavy metals) and also acts as a molecular sieve of various toxins. A molecular sieve is a crystalline material with pores of uniform size. They have the same size as small molecules, and large molecules cannot enter or be adsorbed, while smaller molecules can (selectively).

Bentonite - the gentle detoxifying material with protective "gel"
This ultrafine, off-white clay material has many similarities to the active properties of clinoptilolite zeolite. Bentonite can absorb various toxic substances on the surface and in the gaps between the layers of the material. The special property produces a gel-like protective film, which is why it is referred to as mildly detoxifying and gentle on the intestines.
