Dr. Dean's potassium solution (Pico Potassium®) – support for electrolyte balance, muscle function and nervous system ⚡🧠💪

Pico Potassium® is a liquid potassium solution developed for adults who want to support the body's electrolyte balance and normal functions at the cellular level. The product contains potassium in a very finely divided, ionic form that has been developed for gentle and effective absorption. Potassium is an essential mineral and an important electrolyte that contributes to normal muscle function, normal function of the nervous system and to maintaining normal blood pressure, in line with EFSA-approved health claims.

The formulation has been developed for daily use and can easily be adapted to individual needs. Pico Potassium® can also be included as part of Dr. Dean's Total Body ReSet™ program along with other mineral supplements for a more balanced mineral supply.

Health benefits and functional properties
• ⚡ Contributes to normal muscle function, including contraction and relaxation of muscles
• 🧠 Contributes to normal functioning of the nervous system and transmission of nerve impulses
• 🫀 Contributes to maintaining normal blood pressure through its role in electrolyte balance
• 💧 Supports the body's fluid and electrolyte balance at the cellular level
• 🔄 Can form part of a holistic approach to mineral balance, particularly in the case of physical activity or increased sweat loss
• 🌿 Liquid formulation that is easy to dose and easy to combine with other minerals

Scientific and nutritional background
Potassium is one of the most important minerals in the human body and is the second most abundant mineral after calcium. In an adult, there are normally around 120 grams of potassium, mainly inside the cells, especially in muscle tissue. This intracellular location makes potassium essential for electrical signals in nerves and muscles, including the heart muscle.

Modern diet and lifestyle can lead to a relatively low intake of potassium, particularly in people with a high intake of processed food or high sodium intake. A balanced ratio of sodium to potassium is important to support normal blood pressure regulation and general electrolyte balance.

Potassium in diet and daily requirements
Potassium is found naturally in many foods, including potatoes, cabbage, beans, bananas, citrus fruits, avocados, tomatoes, berries and watermelon. Whole grain products such as rye, buckwheat and rice also contribute, as well as fish, chicken and other meat.

European recommendations for potassium intake in adults are usually around 3,100–3,500 mg per day. The need may be higher in physically active people or with increased fluid loss. Pico Potassium® has been developed to be able to supplement the diet in a flexible way without replacing natural sources.

The role of potassium in the body's normal functions
Potassium contributes to the normal transmission of nerve impulses and is essential for muscles to contract correctly. This includes the rhythmic contractions of the heart. Potassium also helps counteract the effects of high sodium intake by supporting the body's natural excretion of sodium via the urine, which helps maintain normal blood pressure.

Potassium and bone health
A diet rich in potassium-rich foods is associated with beneficial effects on the acid-base balance in the body. This can help reduce calcium excretion via urine and support the maintenance of normal bone health over time, without this constituting an approved health claim.

Instructions for use
Adults: Up to 1/4 teaspoon of Pico Potassium® dissolved in water daily. Can be taken together or spread throughout the day, with or without food.
