OLIVIE PowerUp – organic desert olive pearls with an extremely high polyphenol content

OLIVIE PowerUp represents a new and exclusive category of functional superfood based on desert olive trees that grow under extreme conditions in the rocky Sahara desert. These so-called survival trees are exposed to intense sun, high heat, strong wind and very limited access to water. As a biological response, the trees produce exceptionally high levels of protective phytochemicals, particularly hydroxytyrosol – one of the most potent and bioavailable polyphenols found naturally in the plant kingdom.

OLIVIE PowerUp is produced by gentle cold pressing of olive leaves, young leaves, olive fruit and extra virgin olive oil from these desert trees. The result is small, soft and tasty olive pearls with a polyphenol concentration that is practically not found in other foods. One teaspoon, corresponding to approximately 5 grams, provides around 67 mg of hydroxytyrosol, which corresponds to the amount normally found in approximately 10 liters of ordinary olive oil.

Clinical studies on Desert Olive Tree Pearls, equivalent to OLIVIE PowerUp, show improvements in complex attention, reaction time, psychomotor speed, processing speed, cognitive flexibility and executive function in middle-aged and elderly people. Hydroxytyrosol has a low molecular weight and can cross the blood-brain barrier, which makes this polyphenol particularly interesting for supporting normal cognitive performance and mental clarity.

Polyphenols from olive leaves and olive oil are known to modulate oxidative stress and contribute to a more balanced inflammatory response, which may be relevant during periods of high physical or mental stress.

The product contains a high proportion of monounsaturated fatty acids, mainly oleic acid, and a low proportion of saturated fatty acids. This is not a medical claim, but points to the fact that hydroxytyrosol-rich olive polyphenols may be particularly relevant for normal age-related processes in the brain.

Technical details and specifications

OLIVIE PowerUp is developed by Olivie Pharma, part of Atlas Olive Oils, and is produced in Morocco from selected desert olive trees grown without the use of pesticides or chemical pesticides. The production takes place by gentle cold pressing without solvents or high heat to preserve polyphenols and natural fatty acids.

The product is delivered as small, soft pearls of pressed olive pulp and extra virgin olive oil with a slightly grainy texture. One glass contains 340 grams of pearls. Total polyphenol content is around 13,400 mg per kilogram. A daily dose of 5 grams provides approximately 67 mg of hydroxytyrosol, in addition to tyrosol and other phenols.

The fatty acid profile is dominated by monounsaturated fatty acids, typically 70–80 percent oleic acid, and less than 15 percent saturated fat. A portion of 5 grams provides approximately 45 kcal and a natural content of fat-soluble antioxidants, including vitamin E. The product contains no added sugar, sweeteners, colourings, flavorings or preservatives.

The ingredients consist exclusively of desert olive pearls made from olive leaves, young olive leaves and olive fruit, as well as extra virgin olive oil. The product is USDA Organic certified, non-GMO and batch tested by independent laboratories for polyphenol content and purity.

Use, taste and storage

Recommended use is 1 to 5 teaspoons daily. Feel free to start with 1 teaspoon and gradually increase if necessary. The pearls can be eaten directly, mixed into yogurt, smoothies or porridge, or used over salads and vegetables. The taste is rich and buttery with a slight bitterness and peppery touch, characteristic of polyphenol-rich olives.

Store tightly closed in a cool and dark place, protected from direct sunlight and heat. After opening, use within approximately 12 months is recommended for optimum taste and stability.
