Cintropur TRIO-UV 10100 (95 W) – Three-stage filtration, activated carbon and UV disinfection for high water flow

Cintropur TRIO-UV 10100 is a professional 3-in-1 system for larger single-family homes, multi-family homes, farms, HORECA, commercial buildings and technical facilities that need a stable, chemical-free hygienic barrier and good taste at high water flows and large tap volumes. The unit combines a mechanical pre-filter (cyclone + 25 µm filter sock), refillable activated carbon (CTN) and powerful UV-C (95 W amalgam) in one robust, service-friendly cabinet.

Short summary

TRIO-UV 10100 filters sediments, improves odor and taste and disinfects the water with UV-C (253.7 nm) without adding chemicals. The amalgam lamp delivers stable radiation over 24 months, and an integrated LCD ballast system (IP65) provides an operating time counter and alarm. Mirror-polished chamber in acid-resistant steel (316L) and spring-mounted quartz holder increase operational reliability. Sized for up to 5.5 m³/h at 25 mJ/cm² (typical bacterial logic dose for continuous operation), with 2" connections for installations with high concurrency.

Health benefits and utility value

🛡️ UV-based hygienic barrier
UV-C at 253.7 nm inactivates bacteria, viruses and protozoa by preventing replication. The technology does not affect taste or smell, and does not form chemical by-products.

💧 Cleaner water with a better taste
Coconut-based activated carbon reduces odour- and taste-damaging substances, chlorine residues and a wide range of micro-faults. The pre-filtration captures soil, sand and rust and protects coal and UV stages.

🌿 Chemical-free, energy-efficient operation
Disinfection takes place exclusively physically (UV light). No dosing, no residual chemicals, and minimal energy and maintenance use.

Top 2 main features

Continuous, chemical-free disinfection with high water flow – Stable UV dose with 95 W amalgam lamp and mirror-polished 316L chamber for efficient radiation utilization.
Complete three-step cleansing – Cyclone + 25 µm filter sock for particles, refillable activated carbon for taste/smell and UV-C for hygienic safety.

One lesser-known benefit

Quick start-up and robust against temperature variations - The amalgam lamp reaches full effect in approx. 60 seconds and retains approx. 90% performance after 16,000 operating hours, providing consistent protection under variable loads.

How the TRIO-UV 10100 (3-in-1) works

🌀 Stage 1 – Mechanical pre-filtration (cyclone + filter sock)
The spiral water path creates a cyclone effect that precipitates coarse particles to the bottom of the bowl. A 25 µm filter sock then captures fine particles. The stocking is available in several finenesses (down to 1 µm if required), is affordable to operate and easy to change.

🧪 Step 2 – Activated Carbon (CTN Container, Refillable)
Coconut-based activated carbon improves taste, removes odors and reduces chlorine residues and a number of organic micro-substances. Refill is done by unscrewing the top cover; coal should be changed 3–4 times per year depending on consumption and raw water.

☀️ Step 3 – UV-C disinfection (95 W amalgam)
UV reactor with 316L mirror-polished chamber and spring-mounted quartz holder for safe, efficient operation. The UV dose is set by the integrated throttle/flow restriction and is recommended to be dimensioned according to the desired target (eg 25 or 40 mJ/cm²).

Areas and purposes

• Semi-detached houses and multi-dwellings with large drain volumes.
• Farming and animal husbandry (drinking water for livestock).
• HORECA, canteen, commercial kitchen and process water for equipment.
• Water from a rainwater tank, well, spring or surface water (with suitable pre-filtration/chemical follow-up).
• Technical water that must have a bacterial safety level without added chemicals.

User experience and service

🔁 Easy service – 5° bayonet twist to release UV lamp after pressure relief.
🖥️ Intelligent control – Integrated IP65 ballast with bright LCD (operating hours, alarm) and EEPROM that retains settings in the event of a power failure.
👁️ Visual inspection – Translucent PVDF ring provides a visual check of the UV light.
🧩 Modular system - Can be combined with additional pre-filtration or finer socks for demanding raw water.

Installation advice

Prefiltration first – To ensure adequate UV transmission (UVT), remove particles and colour/humus.
UV always last – Mount the UV reactor after mechanical and adsorptive steps.
Dimensions on dose, not just on litres/hour – Consider the necessary UV dose (25–40 mJ/cm² typical for drinking water practices) in relation to the desired hygienic barrier and raw water quality.
Legionella and thermal shock - UV-C can form part of comprehensive strategies for legionella control, but should not stand alone in complex facilities; follow applicable guidelines.
Electrical and space - Ensure a grounded outlet, service space around the unit and availability for annual inspection.

Maintenance

UV lamp – Replace every 2 years (or in the event of an operating time alarm). Blue skin is not evidence of sufficient UV dose.
Quartz sleeve – Clean gently when coating; replace normally every 5 years.
Activated charcoal – Refill 3–4 times per year depending on consumption/quality.
Filter sock – Inspect in case of pressure drop or according to plan, replace if necessary.
Seasonal operation – At standstill: follow routines for flushing and start-up.

Disclaimer and disclaimer

Use and installation must be carried out in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and applicable regulations. Water designated as "drinking water" must also satisfy relevant chemical and sensory quality requirements; UV disinfection alone does not replace necessary chemical control or any local requirements. The device is not a medical product and is not intended to diagnose, treat or cure disease. The effect can vary with raw water quality, operation and maintenance. Keep out of the reach of children.
