Rigvir SE – Biologically active dietary supplement with live, non-genetically modified ECHO-7 virus

Rigvir SE is a specially formulated dietary supplement containing trace amounts of a live, adapted and non-genetically modified ECHO-7 virus (Rigvir®) combined with whey protein isolate and vitamin B2 (riboflavin). The product has been developed on the basis of several decades of laboratory and clinical research in Latvia since the 1960s and is produced in a GMP-approved factory in the EU. Rigvir SE is supplied as one enteric capsule with a special coating (hydroxypropylmethylcellulose) which protects the contents from stomach acid and contributes to release in the intestine. Each capsule contains 190 mg of whey protein isolate as a carrier matrix for the freeze-dried virus, as well as 5 mg of riboflavin (vitamin B2). The product is third-party tested for sterility, stability, toxicology and long-term durability, and the underlying technology is internationally patented. Shelf life is 12 months if stored correctly. Rigvir SE has been launched as a dietary supplement and should not be perceived or used as a medicine.
