Near-infrared (NIR + - 750 nm – 1400 nm)
Near-infrared (NIR) is the shortest infrared wavelength. Scientific research shows that NIR promotes skin renewal, cell health, wound healing, and tissue growth when delivered at the vital wavelength of 880 nm, without extreme heat or light. Light-emitting diodes are effective because they can trigger a natural photochemical reaction, similar to how plants use chlorophyll to convert sunlight into plant tissue. When the wave is pulsed, it can penetrate deeper into the tissue. mPulse saunas got their name because the LED pulsing provides significant health benefits.
Mid-infrared (MIR + - 1500 nm – 3000 nm)
Mid-infrared (MIR) is a longer wavelength that, among other things, acts on the body's soft tissue where inflammation occurs and thereby accelerates the healing process. To produce MIR, the sauna heater must have a surface temperature of 250 ° C. Although many sauna companies claim to provide full spectrum, the material used in the heaters melts at the high temperature required to emit MIR. Sunlighten has worked with engineers and scientists, which led to the development of a high-tech Solocarbon material that can withstand the surface temperature necessary to achieve optimal health effects.
Far-infrared (FIR + - 3000 nm – 10,000 nm)
The longest wavelength, called far-infrared (FIR), reaches deep into the body, where toxins are stored. FIR has a deeply acting energetic heat effect, due in part to the water in the body being heated and achieving a more optimal structure. Sunlighten has the most effective far-infrared heating system with their efficient Solokarbon heating coating. Instead of being melted between layers, the coating is on the outside of the heating panel. During the development process, we found that this program provides 99% efficiency, virtually without power loss.

Research and reviews of infrared technology and health effects
The health magazine Vitenskap og fornuft (vof.no) no. 6, 2017, contains two articles about infrared therapy, and more are coming in no. 7 and 8/2017 and 1/2018. We have taken the liberty of freely referring to a few sentences from the articles, which are research-based and documented.
ME - myalgic encephalomyelitis/encephalopathy – CFS – chronic fatigue
"It has been documented that two ME patients (chronic fatigue syndrome) improved significantly after infrared sauna treatment. In addition to the aforementioned ME study, four other studies have looked at the effects of far infrared radiation on various pain conditions." In bullet-point form (not a quote): All 17+17 patients felt less fatigued. In another study of 22 people with chronic pain, pain was reduced in both groups and they felt less fatigued.
General information about near-infrared and full-spectrum infrared therapy
This type of treatment is promising for a range of health conditions and as a preventive therapy, as can be seen from all the effects mentioned above. NASA (the American space agency) has had success in a number of areas with LED and heat-based infrared light, including in cancer and pain treatment
Note! Hyperthermia treatment, where the temperature in the body or areas of the body is increased to around 40 degrees Celsius (or more in local tissue), should not be carried out without monitoring and supervision by healthcare professionals. Of course, you can preheat the sauna and become thoroughly warm, like during a regular sauna session, on a regular basis to achieve both a high heat effect and the health-promoting infrared rays. Remember to drink enough clean water, add a little Real Salt and minerals (ReMag and ReMyte recommended).
