Who uses CBD (Cannabidiol) internationally and for what?
In early 2019, Project CBD began collecting responses to a survey designed to find out who uses CBD, how and why people use CBD, what types of products they use, and whether or not CBD worked for them. The analysis in the report covers an eight-month period and includes over 3,500 responses. The survey asked about CBD's impact on six quality of life measurements: pain, mood, sleep, physical function, energy or motivation, and the ability to socialize. A majority of participants reported some improvement across all measures, but the most significant were in pain and mood.
The survey provided information on 17 different conditions that CBD has been used for, including:
- Alcoholism/addiction
- ADHD
- Alzheimer's disease
- Autism spectrum disorder
- Brain injury (eg, stroke, TBI, tumor)
- Cancer
- Diabetes
- Epilepsy and other seizure disorders
- Gastrointestinal disease (eg colitis, Crohn's, IBS)
- Depression
- Anxiety and other mood disorders
- Motion sicknessPainParkinson's disease
- Hormonal conditions (eg PMS, menopause)
- Multiple sclerosis
- PTSD
- Sleep problems
The survey asked what type or stage of disease the person had (eg type 1 or type 2 diabetes) and how they felt CBD affected their symptoms. This observational study validated some well-established facts about CBD - namely that CBD is very safe to use and effectively counteracts pain and anxiety. Participants reported improvements in pain and mood regardless of underlying medical condition. That said, the study also showed that CBD is not a solution to everything that ails us. Nevertheless, CBD was a catalyst that makes people feel better, most likely due to its positive impact on pain, mood and sleep. The study also found that there were few side effects, which is consistent with studies showing that CBD is safe and well tolerated even at high doses.

Tips on type of product, use and dosage
Type of CBD product, isolate, broad-spectrum and full-spectrum products. There are many varieties of products on the market that contain CBD. Synthetic isolates that only contain the CBD molecules have been shown to have a worse effect in general than the products that contain a wider spectrum of plant substances. The broad spectrum are oils that contain more than just the cannabinoid CBD and several plant substances, but not illegal THC. Full spectrum also contains THC (which is illegal in Norway).
CBD cosmetics
Uno Vita supplies approved cosmetic CBD oils of the broad-spectrum type in MCT oil or hemp seed oil. The hemp seed oil also has beneficial plant substances that can contribute to a synergistic effect. Cosmetic products (see definition below) can be used on all skin surfaces (unless it is specifically stated that the product is not suitable, because the CBD oils have no such exceptions), which includes e.g. thin skin areas, rashes, painful areas, dry skin, lips and oral cavity.
Instructions for use: Shake well before use. Store the CBD skin oil in a cool, dry place and away from direct sunlight.
For use on the skin: Apply a few drops and massage into the affected area every morning and evening. We recommend you start with a low dose, especially if you have little or no experience with CBD. There may be dry skin areas, areas with pain or similar.
CBD skin oil can be good for the mucous membranes in the mouth. If you want to use the oil for this purpose, it is recommended to drip the desired number of drops in the desired area and do not swallow, wash down or eat food the closest ones 25 minutes for best results.
Dosage, 5,10,15,25,30% concentrations?
General experience and considerations suggest that it often makes sense to start with a low dosage as the body often needs 1-2 weeks to activate the endocannabinoid system. DES is a biochemical communication system in the human body, which plays a decisive role in regulating our physiology, mood and everyday experience. Read more about DES here
This effect and the possibility that you get a good effect from the oils even at low doses means that it is often wise to start low, economically and in terms of use. Some people require higher concentrations to achieve the desired results also depending on overall health, use of other supplements and medicines etc. Then the rule of thumb is to experiment until you find the dosage you feel comfortable and satisfied with.
Legality. In Norway, only EU-approved CBD cosmetic products without TCH are permitted when these are registered in the EU cosmetics database and documented. The oils Uno Vita uses from Formula Swiss have the necessary approvals and are thoroughly tested.
