Cintropur NW280 – Centrifugal pre-filter for the whole house, supplied as standard with a 5 µm filter sleeve

Cintropur NW280 is a robust pre-filter for homes, farms, smaller commercial buildings and technical facilities that want clear water before further treatment. The filter combines a cyclonic pre-filtration with a replaceable filter sleeve (standard 5 µm in this delivery) and provides high water flow with low pressure drop. All wet-running components are made from certified materials that are suitable for contact with drinking water.

Short summary

NW280 removes soil, sand, rust and other particle content from tap water, rainwater, well and spring water. The spiral water path creates a cyclone effect that pushes coarse particles down to the bottom of the bowl, while the fine filter sleeve retains small particles. The result is smooth operation, cleaner water for the entire installation and better protection of equipment such as UV sterilizers, reverse osmosis, softeners, water heaters, fixtures and household appliances.

Where does the NW280 fit in?

NW280 has been developed for clear to lightly loaded water in single-family homes, terraced houses and multi-family homes, as well as for service water for workshops, agricultural facilities and light industry. The filter is an ideal first step before activated carbon, UV-C or other cleaning processes, and reduces the need for service in downstream equipment by removing particulate matter early.

This is how the Cintropur technology works

The integrated paddle rotates the water and forms a cyclone that separates coarse particles by centrifugal force. The particles are collected at the bottom of the transparent bowl, where they can be easily drained via the drain tap. After the pre-precipitation, the water passes through the filter sleeve (standard 5 µm) which retains finer particles. The large filtration surface (approx. 530 cm²) provides high water flow and low pressure drop. The clear bowl provides continuous visual control of load and cleaning needs.

User benefits

🌀 Cyclone effect that extends the life of the filter sleeve and provides smooth operation.
💧 High water flow with low pressure drop for comfortable tap quantities throughout the house.
👁️ Transparent bowl for quick visual check of filter status.
🔧 Quick maintenance with included filter key and bottom valve for rinsing.
🧩 Flexible degree of filtration - large selection of sleeves from 1 to 300 µm (washable and non-washable).

What comes with it

The delivery includes NW280 filter housing with 1" connections, filter sleeve 5 µm (standard in this package), filter key, drain tap ½" and two manometers (0-20 bar) for easy monitoring of pressure drop. Wall bracket in acid-resistant steel can be supplied as an accessory.

Technical details and specifications

Connection dimension
1" external threads

Water flow and pressure drop
Up to approx. 7 m³/h at a pressure loss of 0.2 bar (indicative for NW280)

Operating pressure and temperature
Recommended continuous operating pressure 10 bar, maximum 16 bar
Maximum water temperature 50 °C

Materials (main wet-running components)
Filter head: Polypropylene (PP) with glass fiber reinforcement
Bowl: PET (transparent)
O-rings: NBR
Support basket/innards: PP (with GF)
Drain screw: PA/Polyester (2K)
Centrifuge and end cap: PP (with seal)

Filtering data
Filter surface approx. 530 cm²
Standard sleeve in this package: 5 µm (non-washable woven polyester)
Available options: non-washable 1–10–25–50–100 µm (packs of 5), washable 150–300 µm (nylon)

Operation and service
Rinse out particles via the bottom valve if necessary. Change or wash the filter sleeve after load and observed pressure drop. Frequency depends on raw water quality and use.

Recommended location
As the first step after intake and before finer filtration, activated carbon or UV disinfection. Fit with shut-off valves and bypass for easy service. UV disinfection must always be last in the line.

Installation and maintenance

Mount the filter vertically on the wall with the drain tap down. Ensure a directed water flow (arrow on the head) and sufficient working space for changing the sleeve. Seal all threaded connections correctly. Set up manometers before and after the filter to monitor pressure drop. At start-up and after service, bleed air and check tightness. Plan the service interval based on the actual pressure increase, visible load in the bowl and changed draw volume.

Disclaimer and disclaimer

Use and installation must be carried out in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and applicable regulations. The filter is a mechanical pre-filter and does not replace chemical treatment or disinfection where this is required. Performance will vary with raw water quality, temperature, particle load, selected degree of filtration and maintenance regime. The device is not a medical product and is not intended to diagnose, treat or cure disease. Keep out of the reach of children.
