The Mission Plus Hb Hemoglobin Meter Starterpack is a professional system for quantitative measurement of hemoglobin and calculation of hematocrit in capillary or venous whole blood. With 50 test strips included, sample volume of only 10 μl and results in less than 15 seconds, this is well suited for clinics and other healthcare services that need fast point-of-care testing with laboratory-like precision. The system uses reflectance photometry at 525 nm, is CE0123 marked and manufactured by ACON in an FDA-registered factory with ISO 13485-based quality procedures.

Unlike larger stationary laboratory equipment, this hemoglobin meter is portable, battery powered and ready to use wherever the patient is. This makes it suitable for doctor's offices, occupational health services, sports medicine, ambulances, home visits and field medicine, where rapid Hb and Hct values can support clinical assessment and follow-up.

  • Measures hemoglobin from 4.5 to 25.6 g/dL and calculates hematocrit from 13 to 75%
  • Gives an answer in less than 15 seconds from one small drop of blood of approx. 10 μl
  • Stores up to 1000 measurements with date, time and ID number
  • Automatic calibration via codechip reduces manual errors and simplifies the workflow
  • Mini USB port makes data transfer to PC easier for documentation and record keeping
  • Powered by 4 AAA batteries or 5 V mains adapter and has a capacity of approx. 2700 tests per battery set

Hemoglobin values are used as part of the assessment of the blood's oxygen transport and general blood status, while hematocrit can provide useful information about the relationship between blood cells and plasma. Compared to manual sample handling or sending to an external laboratory, this can provide faster decision support in situations where time, mobility and simple logistics are important. In sports medicine and performance environments, the system can also be used to follow developments in the blood profile over time, for example during hard training, recovery or staying at altitude, without the device itself being used for diagnosis or treatment.

The starter pack contains 1 Mission Plus Hb hemoglobin meter, 50 test strips with codechip, 1 lancing device, 110 lancets, 60 capillary tubes for 10 μl blood transfusion, 4 AAA batteries, carrying case and user manual. The meter weighs approx. 145 g without batteries and measures approx. 137 × 79 × 26 mm, which makes it easy to carry in a bag, suitcase or first aid kit. Strips are stored dry and cool at 2 to 30 °C and have a shelf life of 6 to 18 months unopened and up to 3 months after opening.

For the best possible quality and safe use, the test protocol should be followed carefully. Always use disposable gloves and good hygiene when taking samples, and avoid touching the reagent field on the strips. Results must always be interpreted by qualified healthcare personnel in a clinical context. For professional users who want a cost-effective alternative to larger laboratory setups, the Mission Plus Hb Starterpack provides a practical combination of speed, traceability and documentable precision.
