Service and troubleshooting instructions for Uno Vita hydrogen water bottles

Jan Fredrik Poleszynski |

Hydrogen water bottles from Uno Vita are advanced health tools that deliver the best results when maintained regularly. To ensure optimal performance and service life, we recommend a simple service procedure before first use and then about once a month thereafter – depending on water quality. If you use purified water from our water filtration systems, the need for servicing will normally be lower.

Regular service procedure and startup
Follow this procedure before first use and preferably monthly as needed:

  1. Check that the bottle is empty and correctly assembled. Make sure there is no plastic or silicone cap left in place protecting the electrode at the bottom.

  2. Check the battery level. Charge the bottle for at least 2 hours before use to ensure a full charge.

  3. Prepare purified warm water. Boil purified water and let it cool to below 70 °C.

  4. Make a cleaning mixture. Fill the bottle halfway with the warm water and add 2–3 tablespoons of plain vinegar without flavoring, or a little citric acid.

  5. Let the cleaning mixture work. Leave it for about 30 minutes. Then rinse the bottle thoroughly.

  6. Activate the electrodes. Fill the bottle with warm water again (water only this time) and start hydrogen production. Repeat the process once more to activate the electrodes.

  7. Prepare for normal use. Empty the bottle, rinse well, and then fill it with clean purified water to below the max mark. Start hydrogen production and drink the water shortly after production – this is when it contains the most free molecular hydrogen.

This procedure helps remove mineral buildup, activate the electrodes, and ensure the best possible function over time.

Important maintenance tip
The bottle must never be stored completely empty. Always leave a little water in the bottle – this protects the electrodes and membrane from drying out and damage. Dry electrodes may cause mineral residue to harden and block the system. If the bottle seems slow or does not produce hydrogen as normal, points 1–7 above can often solve the problem.

Troubleshooting when not functioning
Most bottles have a long service life, but certain problems may still occur. Here are common faults and what you can do:

  1. The bottle does not charge or start. First, check the charging cable. Cables can develop breaks after extensive use. Try a different mobile charger. Some car chargers provide too low a voltage to charge the bottle effectively. Replace the charging cable and charger before concluding that the bottle or battery is defective. Tip: After a longer break in use, the bottle should be fully charged and then go through the complete service procedure (points 1–7).

  2. The battery is weakened. With very frequent use over a long period, the battery may become worn. This may also mean that the electrodes and membrane have been heavily used. In such cases, it may be more appropriate to replace the entire bottle, as replacing individual components is rarely worthwhile.

Summary
By performing simple monthly servicing, using purified water, and following a few simple maintenance routines, you ensure that your Uno Vita hydrogen water bottle performs at its best and gives you maximum benefit from every drop of hydrogen-rich water.
