Uno Vita Red Light Therapy Cap

The Uno Vita Red Light Therapy Cap is a discreet and portable photobiomodulation cap developed for the targeted use of red and near-infrared light on the scalp.

On the inside sits 148 dual-chip LEDs which combines 660 nm red light and 850 nm near-infrared light (NIR). The combination provides both visible red light to the more superficial areas of the scalp and near-infrared light with greater tissue penetration.

The cap has been developed to make regular light treatment easy. Instead of sitting in front of a large panel, the light sources are placed close to the scalp and follow the shape of the head. You can therefore carry out a session while reading, working at the computer, watching TV or relaxing.

Red and near-infrared light in the same system

660 nm red light is widely used in photobiomodulation and is particularly relevant when you want light energy against the skin, scalp and hair follicle area.

850 nm near-infrared light is invisible to the eye and normally penetrates deeper into tissue than visible red light.

Photobiomodulation and hair

Red and near-infrared light has been investigated within photobiomodulation, also called PBM or low-level light therapy, among other things in connection with hair and scalp.

A central mechanism discussed in PBM research is the absorption of light in the cells' mitochondria. This can affect cellular energy turnover and the production of ATP – the cells' most important energy carrier.

In the hair follicle area, the aim of such light treatment is to support a favorable environment around active hair follicles and the normal hair growth cycle.

The product manual also describes the use of red light as a support for hair follicles, hair roots and scalp.

Results will vary from person to person, and regularity over time is more important than individual treatments.

148 dual-chip LEDs

The hat contains 148 LED positions with dual-chip technology, which makes it possible to combine both 660 nm and 850 nm in the same compact system.

The manufacturer states an irradiation strength of:

The hat can be used both with continuous light and with 10 Hz pulsating light.

The 10 Hz mode is activated by holding the mode button for approximately two seconds.

Automatic 10-minute session

When the unit is started, the control unit automatically begins a 10 minute countdown.

This means that you do not need a separate timer and makes it easier to carry out a consistent routine.

The manual recommends regular use over time and states 3-4 times per week as an example in connection with hair-related use.

Discreet and easy to use

From the outside, the system looks largely like a regular black sun hat.

This makes it significantly more discreet than large panels, helmets and other light processing systems.

How to use the hat

Place the hat comfortably on your head.

Connect the cap to the control unit.

Hold the ON/OFF button for about two seconds.

Choose red light, near-infrared light or both wavelengths at the same time.

Choose 20%, 50% or 100% brightness.

Hold the mode button for about two seconds if you want 10 Hz pulsing.

Allow the 10-minute program to complete.
